We have had extremely limited access to the internet in the last little while, but so much has happened. We will expand more on this soon, but here is a quick summary of what we have been up to:
- Flew from Singapore to Chennai (South India on the East coast, fairly close to Sri Lanka)
- Met up with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Chennai
- Lived with an Indian missionary family for 4 days
- Ate really good south Indian food
- Led worship for the Discipleship Training School and School of Worship
- Preached at a small gathering
- Learned about HIV ministry
- Visited a support group meeting for people who are HIV positive
- Visited an orphanage for kids who have HIV
- Celebrated with the whole Chennai YWAM team at a beach house retreat
- Took a night train to Bangalore, India
- Explored an Indian street market
- Failed to find a bus and resorted to the auto-rickshaw
- Stayed the night at the base of Operation Mobilization (AKA Dalit Freedom Network, AKA Good Shepherd)
- Visited the rehabilitation base for women who have been trafficked
- Visited the slum ministries, including a school and clinic
- Went for lunch with the OM/DFN director and other workers
- Met up with Kristin and Brian
We are now on the last leg of our trip and are staying at Kristin and Brian's beautiful apartment in Bangalore. There is so much detail left out that we really want to share, but it will take a while to write. Please continue to be patient with us.

Do all the things that you want to do as you will be home soon.You can write whenever time or opportunity permit or tell us later when you return. Enjoy all the wonderful food as much as your stomachs can handle.

where was the OM base that you stayed at? the hyderabad location i was telling you guys about was an OM base, DFN and Good shepherd school as well. assuming that there is a few of them i guess. can't wait for more updates
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome you guys! Such a rich, serving and worshipping-filled trip! I love that you guys got to spend some time with YWAM and share/encourage them with your musical worship! So full and planned out ~ I will one day aspire to half of Debbie's awesome trip planfulness!!
